IMF, WB to hold governors' meeting in Turkmenistan in September

An interim meeting of governors of countries included in the Swiss group at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank (WB) in the Turkmenistan's Caspian Sea resort "Avaza" on Sept. 3-4, 2011, an official Turkmen source said on Saturday.

An interim meeting of governors of countries included in the Swiss group at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank (WB) in the Turkmenistan's Caspian Sea resort "Avaza" on Sept. 3-4, 2011, an official Turkmen source said on Saturday.
The event will be held for the first time in Central Asia.

Preparation for the event was discussed in Ashgabat at a recent governmental meeting.
As is expected, the meeting along with the management board of the WB and IMF will also be attended by about 60 countries, including foreign ministers, finance and economy ministers, and heads of central banks of the above-mentioned organizations' member countries.

"It is necessary to use the opportunities of this event to attract foreign investments for large-scale projects of international importance," Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov said at a governmental meeting.
