Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct.23 / Trend, F.Milad/

The Central Bank of Iran governor, Mahmoud Bahmani, stated that the country's inflation rate is currently about 18 percent.

He made the remarks in a ceremony in Tehran on Saturday to introduce national exemplary exporters, ISNA news agency reported.

It seems that the announced figure is related to the month of Shahrivar (the sixth Iranian calendar month ended on Sept. 22). He had earlier put the inflation rate for the fifth calendar month at 17.3 percent, but added that the point-to-point inflation has decreased to 20.8 percent in the fifth month from 21.1 percent in the fourth month.

The central bank had announced the inflation rates for the fourth and the third calendar months 16.3 percent and 15.4 percent, respectively.
