Iran construction materials exports up by 3-folds

Iran's construction materials exports have increased by three-folds in the recent years, Iranian Industry, Mine, and Trade ministers said on Sunday.

The country's construction materials exports have increased to 15 million tons from the previous figure of 5 million tons in recent years, the ISNA News Agency quoted Mehdi Ghazanfari as saying.

He made the remarks at the closing ceremony of the 13th Tehran International Construction Fair (Confair 2013).

Confair 2013 was held at the Tehran Permanent International Fairgrounds from July 3-6. Some 800 domestic and foreign companies took part in the four-day event.

"Iran exported 210 billion rials (some $6.36 million based on the free market rate) worth of construction materials in the time span between (Iranian calendar) years of 1380 to 1391 (2001-2012)," he added.

"Iran's technical and engineering services exports in the field of construction stood at 3 billion dollars in the Iranian year of 1390 (which ended March 20, 2012)," Ghazanfari said, adding that the country's technical and engineering services exports was around 35 million dollars in the year of 1380 (which ended March 20, 2002).
