Foreign direct investments in Kazakhstan increased by 4 times to $14.3 billion in 2016

Foreign direct investments in Kazakhstan increased by 4 times to $14.3 billion in 2016, Kazakh National Bank said in a message Feb.7.
In the 3Q2016 foreign direct investments inflow reached a record level of $6.3 billion.

“Foreign direct investments mainly into the joint ventures in oil and gas sphere were the main source of capital inflows into the country,” the bank said.

The capital inflow was also ensured by the loans from international organizations attracted by the Government and the use of the National Fund’s reserves.

Total net capital inflow in Kazakhstan excluding transactions with reserve assets of the National Bank reached $9.3 billion in 2016 compared to $10 billion in 2015.
