Iran increases revival of industrial units

TEHRAN, Iran, Nov.3

Iran has reactivated 819 industrial units in the country's industrial regions since the start of the current Iranian year (started March 20, 2020), said the acting president of Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization.

"The revival and launch of industrial units have created 14,458 jobs, there are currently 46,000 active small and medium industrial units that about 9,800 of them are inactive," said Asghar Mosaheb, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"It was planned to activate 1,500 units in the first stage of the project during the current Iranian year (started March 20, 2020) while there were new plans on the agenda to launch 2,000 units across the country. With the launch of 819 industrial units from the start of the current Iranian year, the government has implemented 55 percent of the drafted plans to revive small industries," he added.

He went on to say that a total of 84 units was reactivated in Tehran province, 62 industrial units activated in Mazandaran province, and 61 units were launched in Qom and Isfahan provinces. Additionally, The employment per capita for each reactivated industrial unit would be 18 people, the investment for the revival of these units were more than $63 million.

"The investment for the revival of industrial units was done via assignment to new investors, partnership investment, the supply of basic goods, rent by the condition of future ownership," he noted.

Overall it is expected that more inactive industrial units would be launched in the next half of the current Iranian year.
