Uzbekistan manages to maintain active foreign trade balance with number of countries

Uzbekistan managed to maintain an active foreign trade balance with Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Iran in 2020, Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

Thus, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade balance with Afghanistan in 2020 amounted to $772.3 million, Kyrgyzstan - $610.1 million, Tajikistan - $307.2 million, and Iran - $33.2 million.

“The presence of an active foreign trade balance with these countries can be viewed as a positive result in the country's foreign trade,” the State Statistics Committee noted.

The committee reports that in 2020, Uzbekistan's total foreign trade turnover amounted to $36.3 billion, which is 13.1 percent less than in 2019.

It was noted that China retained its first place among the main trade partners of Uzbekistan. The share in the total volume of Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover amounted to 17.7 percent.

In particular, the volume of exports from Uzbekistan to China amounted to $1.9 billion, the volume of imports - $4.5 billion.

Russia placed in second place with the trade turnover amounting to $5.6 billion, which is 15.5 percent of the total trade turnover.

The three main partners are closed by Kazakhstan. In 2020, the volume of exports from Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan amounted to $903 million, while the imports' volume amounted to $2.1 billion. The share in the total volume of foreign trade turnover accounts for 8.3 percent.

The three are followed by South Korea, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Germany, and Afghanistan.
