BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 7. Iran exported 6.1 million tons of non-oil products worth over $3 billion to Türkiye in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023), Trend reports.
Data from Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) shows that Iran's non-oil exports to Türkiye for the reporting period fell by 10.9 percent in value and rose by 19.8 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
In the corresponding period of the previous year, Iran exported 5.09 million tons of non-oil products to Türkiye worth about $3.4 billion.
Iran’s main export items to Türkiye were agricultural and food products, petrochemical products, industrial and mining products, etc.
During the 8th month alone (October 23 through November 21, 2023), Iran’s export of non-oil products to Türkiye was around 392,000 tons worth $278 million.
Overall, Iran’s non-oil exports reached $32.2 billion in value and more than 90 million tons in volume in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2023).
Compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year, the value of non-oil exports decreased by 1.6 percent, while the volume increased by 27 percent.
Iran’s non-oil exports do not include crude oil, mazut, and white oil, which are subject to US sanctions that prevent Iran from exporting them freely. Therefore, Iran has been focusing on increasing its non-oil exports to cope with the economic pressure.
