Hydrocarbon Production in Caspian Will Double: Head of US Energy Information Agency

Badalova/ The production of hydrocarbon in the Caspian Sea will total 5.7mln barrels of oil per day by 2030 against 2.1mln barrels in 2005, Guy Caruso, the head of Energy Information Agency (EIA) of the United States said during a conference held in Netherlands, EIA said to Trend .

According to Caruso, the production of hydrocarbon in Russia will reach 11.5mln barrels of oil by 2030 per day against 9.5mln barrels in 2005. China will increase its production by three times up to 4.9mln barrels of oil per day by 2030. The Near East countries will raise the production almost by 60% up to 37.5mln barrels of oil per day by 2003.

According to Caruso, the proved oil resources worldwide totaled to 1,332bln barrels as of January 2008, 748bln barrels of which accounts for Near East countries. The proved oil resources in the North America total to 211bln barrels, 115bln in Africa, 110bln in South and Central America and 99bln in Eurasia.

According to the EIA head, by 2010 the world demand for gas will total 166trln cu.ft half of which will account for the countries included in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). In 2015, the demand for gas will reach 129trln cu.ft, 62trln of which will account for the OECD countries. In 2020 the demand for gas will reach 141trln cu.ft, 65trln of which will account for OECD countries. In 2025, the demand for gas will reach 152trln cu.ft, 68trln of which will account for OECD. In 2030, the demand for gas will reach 163trln cu.ft, 70trln of which will account for OECD.
