Azerbaijan, Baku, May 4 / Trend , E.Ismayilov/

The daily oil production on the Azerbaijani offshore Central Azeri field is 36,500 tons (270,000 barrels), a source from oil and gas industry said.

The platform was earlier halted due to gas emissions. Before the platform was halted, oil was produced from 13 wells. Currently, only twelve wells are being explored, the source said.

BP - operator of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) - halted oil production at the Central Azeri field on Sep. 17, 2008, and evacuated staff from the platform in connection with gas emissions into the sea. Later, the oil production on the platform was resumed.

The daily oil production on ACG is about 900,000 barrels equal to 900,000 barrels before the halt.

The ACG produces the Azeri Light oil. The oil is exported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.

The sides to the production sharing agreement on the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields are BP (operator- 34.14%), ChevronTexaco (10.2%), SOCAR (10%), INPEX (10%), Statoil Hydro (8.56%), ExxonMobil (8.01%), TPAO (6.75%), Devon (5.63%), Itochu (3.92%) and Delta Hess (2.72%).
