The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) exported about 1.5 million tons of oil through the northern pipeline of Baku-Novorossiysk in January to July, 2009 compared to 782,000 tons of oil in the same period of 2008, SOCAR said.
The company exported 247,000 tons of oil through the pipeline in July compared to 83,700 in July 2008.
In 2009, SOCAR is likely to increase the export of oil through the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline to 2.5 million tons of oil compared to 1.3 million in 2008.
In 2007 the company exported 1.2 million tons of oil through the pipeline, the same in 2006. The volume of oil export through the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline amounted to 1.6 million in 2005.
