Qatar is interested in implementation energy projects with Azerbaijan, Qatar's Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani said at a meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, the Foreign Ministry press-center reported.
Qatar's Emir stressed importance of creating direct air flights between the countries to develop mutual contacts. The sides also stressed importance to establish the inter-governmental commission for economic cooperation to expand economic ties.
Elmar Mammadyarov paid official visit to this country on Jan. 11-12. He thanked Qatar's leadership for fair position in solving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and support on the international arena.
"Qatar supports Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and its position in solving the conflict. Qatar thinks that solving the conflict can have positive results for the entire region and Armenia," Emir said.
Middle East's problem and Qatar's role in ensuring regional security were also discussed at the meeting.
During his visit to Qatar Azerbaijani Foreign Minister met with Qatar's officials. The agreement on visa abolition for people having diplomatic and official passports was signed.
