Producing Electricity From Body Heat: Iran

Iranian researchers of the technological units of the Growth Center of Gilan Province produced new types of conductive fabrics by using silver nanoparticles that help generate electricity from body heat, Iran Daily reported.

One of the advantages of these fabrics is to generate electricity from body heat. They are also used in the production of wave cases for mobile phones and credit cards, Fars News Agency reported.

According to the center's officials, silver nanoparticles used in the production of fabrics were synthesized in the center's laboratories.

Higher stability is among the advantages of the synthesized nanoparticles over the ready-to-use counterparts.

Among the other characteristics of the fabrics synthesized with silver nanoparticles, their stability against acidic or alkaline substances, sweating, washing and rise in air permeability is of great importance.

According to the project's executors, the production of conductive fabrics began in 2007 for receiving signals from the heart and transferring them in the form of magnetic waves. However, changes were made in the draft plan by authorities due to its high cost and the new plan was carried out to generate electricity from body heat by using such fabrics.
