Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has approved the regulations for the Turkmengaz state concern to successfully implement the tasks assigned to the gas industry.
Turkmenistan is the largest natural gas supplier in Central Asia. The gas production is planned to be increased up to 230 billion cubic meters by 2030 compared to the current 70 billion cubic meters of gas.
According to the ministry, production of natural and associated gas increased by 40.2 percent and natural gas exports increased by 77.4 percent in the first half of 2011.
The country sells gas to Russia, Iran and China. The additional pipeline to Russia, to Europe and India are under discussion.
The concern develops about 30 gas and gas condensate fields, including such unique fields like Dovletabat and Shatlik, the largest deposits Malay, Kerpichli, Garashsizligin 10 yilligi, Gazlidepe, Bagaca, Elguyi and others.
The new fields were opened in Lebap.
The contracts were signed with foreign companies to create the appropriate infrastructure of gas-producing and gas processing facilities on the Gunorta Yoloten Field.
