As of June 1, the level of gasification in Azerbaijan reached 75.9 percent, the head of the Azerigas production union of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Akbar Hajiyev, told the official website of the ruling New Azerbaijan party.
He said that, in particular, the level of gasification in Baku during the period amounted to 95.8 percent, while in other regions - 64.8 percent.
"Appropriate measures are taken to bring the level of gasification of the country before the end of 2013 to 95 percent," Hajiyev said.
SOCAR head Rovnag Abdullayev said previously that under the programme gasification level in Baku and some regions will reach 100 percent. But it will be impossible to bring it to this index in some areas, especially mountainous, because of economical inexpediency of gasification of several remote villages.
