Production of oil products increases in Turkey

Petrol and diesel fuel production in Turkey in October rose by 6.2 per cent compared to the previous month reaching 1.1 million tons, the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority's report said on Monday.

The total production of oil products for the period increased by 6.2 per cent to 2.1 million tons.

The production of oil products increased by 4.9 per cent amounting to 18.5 million tons from January to October compared to the same period in 2011.

Petrol consumption in Turkey in October declined by 4.2 per cent, reaching 156,000 tons compared to the previous month. Diesel fuel consumption in October rose by 0.4 per cent to 1.35 million tons.

Petrol consumption dropped by 5.4 per cent to 1.5 million tons in January-October 2012. Diesel fuel consumption for the period increased by 5.6 per cent to 12.2 million tons.

The average price of petrol in Turkey in October rose by 1.5 per cent reaching 4.78 lira per litre compared to the previous month. The price on diesel rose by two per cent to 4.28 lira per litre.

The official exchange rate is 1.7738 TRY/USD on Dec. 18.
