SOCAR (the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic) will attract one more ship to eliminate the effects of the accident at Bulla-Deniz field, the first vice-president of SOCAR Khoshbaht Yusufzadeh told journalists on Wednesday.

Gurban Abbasov vessel will also be involved in extinguishing the fire. Now the ship is being prepared. Currently, serious work is carried out, and most likely in the near future the fire will be eliminated," Yusufzadeh said.

According to him, work is going according to plan. Earlier installation of special equipment needed to extinguish the fire in the well, started in the vessel.

"Foreign specialists are involved in work as well. They have great experience in this sphere. The well will not be abandoned," Yusufzadeh stressed.

Currently, SOCAR works jointly with service technicians of "BOOTS & COOTS" of the U.S. company Halliburton on setting up the equipment to take the fountain under control. Along with this, joint work continues to eliminate the accident in accordance with the schedule.

The fire engulfed exploration well No.90 in the north-east wing of Bulla-Deniz on August 17. The sea depth at the field is 26.5 metres.

According to SOCAR, ignition happened during drilling at a depth of 5868 metres.

An open gas blowout took place at 23:30 local time, August 17 which was followed by fire.

All 62 workers who were at the platform were evacuated to the shore, there were no casualties.
