The Greenfields Petroleum Corporation which is a co-owner of Bahar Energy is the operator of the Bahar offshore field within a PSA agreement signed for the exploration, rehabilitation, development and production at the Bahar and Gum Deniz fields. It acts as its technical consultant.

The contract on the block was signed between SOCAR (the State Oil of Azerbaijan) and Bahar Energy in 2009.

In turn, the Azerbaijani private company Baghlan Group owns an interest of 66.67 per cent in Bahar Energy.

As Harkins noted, in the second quarter of this year a contract was signed with PGS-Khazar to carry out a three-dimensional seismic survey at the Gum Deniz field.

Conducting such a survey in the field will take six months. The estimated cost of the work he said is $14.9 million.

As the President of Greenfields Petroleum Corporation said, in 2012, net production from Bahar ERDPSA (exploration, rehabilitation, development and psa) amounted to 1,093 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
