Algeria to back OPEC decision on limiting oil output

Algeria, as a member of OPEC, will support any of its decision related to limiting or freezing the oil production, said Algerian Energy Minister Noureddine Boutarfa during his speech at the 23rd World Energy Congress in Istanbul Oct. 12.

Algeria, as a member of OPEC, will support any of its decision related to limiting or freezing the oil production, said Algerian Energy Minister Noureddine Boutarfa during his speech at the 23rd World Energy Congress in Istanbul Oct. 12.

“This is not an issue for us. This decision will not benefit Algeria only, it is also vital for consumers and global economy,” said Boutarfa.

According to him, energy ministers of oil producing countries will hold a consultation meeting Oct. 12 on OPEC decisions made at the informal meeting in Algeria.

The 23rd World Energy Congress is held in Istanbul, Turkey on the initiative of Turkey’s Prime Minister Binali Yildirim and Energy and National Resources Minister Berat Albayrak and under the auspices of Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
