French SUEZ company and Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR are in talks on water treatment related issues, Manager of the French SUEZ Group for Azerbaijan Alain Carbonel told Trend.
“SUEZ delivers chemicals for water treatment related issues to some subsidiaries of SOCAR. Discussions between SOCAR and SUEZ are on-going regarding the development of cooperation in this field,” he said.
Carbonel went on to add that the current level of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Suez is excellent.
“SUEZ is performing various projects in Azerbaijan, the two most emblematic being the Training and Innovation and the Technical Services for Sumgait contracts, which are contracts signed with AZERSU,” he said. “Both contracts will be soon successfully completed and Suez does hope that there will be further activities in the Innovation field in the Absheron Peninsula and for the improvement of water and waste water services in the City of Sumgait. Negotiations are in process for both topics.”
Carbonel noted that SUEZ would also be good partner of Azerbaijan for the management of storm water, the smart irrigation of crops, the improvement of air quality in Baku, the remediation of polluted soils and lakes, the treatment of produced water from oil and gas fields.
