Azerbaijan continues to increase gas production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 19

Some 30.5 billion cubic meters of gas were produced in Azerbaijan from January through October 2020, Trend reports on Nov. 19 with reference to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy.

This indicator grew by 5.4 percent or 1.6 billion cubic meters of gas from January through October 2020 compared to the same period of last year.

Some 9.7 billion cubic meters of gas were produced from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) field, 14.7 billion cubic meters from Shah Deniz.

Some 6.1 billion cubic meters of gas accounted for SOCAR during the reporting period.

During the reporting period, the volume of gas export reached 10.8 billion cubic meters, which is 15 percent more than in the same period of last year.

Export to Turkey grew by 20.9 percent or 9 billion cubic meters of gas from January through October 2020 compared to the first 10 months of 2019.

The volume of gas export to Georgia amounted to 1.8 billion cubic meters.

Some 3.7 billion cubic meters of gas were supplied to Turkey via TANAP during the reporting period.

About 7.6 billion cubic meters of gas were supplied to Turkey via TANAP from June 30, 2018, through October 1, 2020.

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) carried out drilling operations in a volume of over 11,000 meters in the third quarter of this year.

At the same time, SOCAR refined about 1.3 million tons of oil, over 827 million cubic meters of natural gas.
