Global Gas Centre looks for close co-op with Turkmenistan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 22

Global Gas Centre considers organizing different events and workshops to develop transfer of knowledge, best practices, in term of markets, new technologies such as biogas, Carbon Capture, heating, regulation, new gas contracts with Turkmenistan, Valérie Ducrot Executive Director of Global Gas Centre told Trend.

“We have recently organized a few workshops in Latin America, with Argentina, Brazil with some of our international experts and it has been of a great added value for these countries which are very much willing to develop their gas markets and export,” she added.

“All the members of the Global Gas Centre would be honored if Turkmenistan became its member one day. Currently, we are holding discussions with the Turkmen government,” said Ducrot.

She pointed out that Turkmenistan's gas has a tremendous role to play in the region as its geography between Europe and Asia is important to bridge this two continents. Gas and all its derivatives are necessary now and in the future to meet the growing demand of energy in these continents.

The Global Gas Centre was founded in 2014 as an association of gas companies and companies interested in the gas business who want to share views and best practices on a neutral, independent and inclusive platform.

“The ambition of the Global Gas Centre is to catalyse a robust business sector in order to coordinate the elaboration of global and common positions based on the expertise of its members. It intends to participate in the discussions, exchanges and debates on the world energy challenges.”
