Azerbaijan’s gas exports to Turkey rose by more than 12.4 percent in February 2021, as compared to the same period in 2020, Trend reports citing Turkey’s Energy Markets Regulatory Authority (EPDK).
Russia accounted for lion’s share of Turkey’s gas imports in February with 2.375 billion cubic meters, followed by Azerbaijan with 966 million cubic meters and Iran with 808 million cubic meters.
Gas exports from Russia and Iran to Turkey increased by 113.6 percent and 5.4 percent, respectively year-on-year.
In total, Turkey’s natural gas imports stood at 6.2 billion cubic meters in February 2021, or 14 percent more as compared to February 2020.
Around 4.150 billion cubic meters were imported via pipelines, while 1.851 billion cubic meters accounted for liquified natural gas (LNG).
Turkey’s gas imports via pipelines rose by 51.5 percent, while LNG imports fell by 26.6 percent.
