Kazakhstan reduces import volume of natural gas

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 9

Trend:

Kazakhstan reduced total production and import volume of natural gas in September 2021, Trend reports referring to the country’s statistics.

According to the statistics, this indicator amounted to 819 million cubic meters, down by 38.5 percent on annual basis and by 32.3 percent in monthly terms.

Besides, in the first nine months of this year, production and import volume of natural gas amounted to 13.3 billion cubic meters, which is 22.4 percent less than in 9M2020.

The volume of natural gas production in September 2021 amounted to 400.7 million cubic meters (a decrease by 23.6 percent year on year and by 42.6 percent in monthly terms), while the import volume was 374.2 million cubic meters (a decrease by 53.6 percent and 18.4 percent, respectively).

The produced gas was wholly exported in the reporting month.

The volume of natural gas exported from January through September this year amounted to 12.8 billion cubic meters (a decrease of 15.3 percent compared to the same period of last year), and sold on the domestic market - 999 million cubic meters (a decrease of 61.9 percent).
