By Nargiz Sadikhova - Trend:

Kazakhstan will take measures to keep inflation in the energy sector within the set borders, Kazakhstan’s Energy Minister Bulat Aqchulaqov said, Trend reports citing the government.

The minister noted that in order to meet the instructions of President Kassym Jomart Tokayev to introduce a moratorium on rising prices for utilities, it is necessary to ensure that the levels of marginal tariffs for the production of electricity by energy-producing organizations are maintained.

“In turn, more than 50 percent of the costs of the utilities are from the purchase of fuel: gas, coal, and services for their transportation, including by rail. To maintain the levels of marginal tariffs, it is necessary to ensure the preservation of prices for fuel and their transportation,” he noted.

He explained that these measures will ensure the stable passage of repair campaigns for the next autumn-winter period.
