BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 28. The Gilan Combined Cycle Power Plant in the Gilan Province (northern Iran) generated 513,220 megawatt-hours of electricity in the 12th month of the last Iranian year (February 20 through March 20, 2022), an official of Gilan Regional Electric Company (GILREC), Mohsen Babazadeh said, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Energy Ministry.

The official emphasized that this is an increase of 58 percent compared to the 11th month of the last Iranian year (January 21 through February 19, 2022).

The Gilan Combined Cycle Power Plant is considered the largest power plant in the Gilan Province. The power plant was put into operation in 1992, and has 6 gas units and 3 steam units. The electricity generation capacity of the power plant is 1,300 megawatt-hours.
