BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 26. Iran's gas exports increased by 19 percent during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Iranian Deputy Oil Minister and CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Majid Chegeni said, Trend reports citing Shana News Agency.

“In 5 months, Iran exported an average of 70 million cubic meters of gas per day, while in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at an average of 59 million cubic meters daily,” the deputy minister noted.

According to Chegeni, there is an increase in Iran's gas exports to Iraq and Türkiye.

The CEO also pointed out that Iran's revenues from gas exports for 5 months increased by 64 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

At present, Iran's gas production is reportedly more than 1 billion cubic meters per day.
