BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 27. The National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) increased the volume of gas supplied to the country’s big industrial enterprises by 13 percent during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Iranian Deputy Oil Minister and CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Majid Chegeni said, Trend reports citing Shana News Agency.
The deputy minister said that the NIGC supplied an average of 145 million cubic meters of gas per day to the country’s steel, cement and petrochemical enterprises in 5 months.
“Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 128 million cubic meters per day,” he added.
According to Chegeni, on average, 300 million cubic meters of gas per day were supplied to the country's thermal power plants in 5 months, which is an increase of 6 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
At present, Iran's gas production is reportedly more than 1 billion cubic meters per day.
