ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 22. Entrepreneurs from Afghanistan bought liquefied natural gas (LNG) on the State Commodity Exchange of Turkmenistan, Trend reports.
Businessmen from Afghanistan purchased 5,000 tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) on the exchange. The total value of transactions amounted to $1.7 million.
This liquefied natural gas was produced at the enterprise of the Turkmengaz State Concern.
Concurrently, according to the exchange, businessmen from Afghanistan purchased 3,000 tons of diesel fuel for a total of $1.7 million.
Meanwhile, in Turkmenistan, LNG plays an important role in its energy and economic strategies. Due to its vast reserves of natural gas, the country decided to develop the production and export of liquefied natural gas in order to expand its geographical reach in the world market and diversify its income.
The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important body of state regulation of export-import operations.
