The joint Azerbaijani-Dutch enterprise (JV) AzeriFugro commenced today testing of rock specimen, obtained during drilling of wells on the Turkmen “Block-1”, JV told Trend .

AzeriFugro JV renders research services on the Caspian mainly to the foreign companies. Earlier AzeriFugro planned to carry out complete modernization of the specialized vessel "Djumshud Ibragimov”, however, later JV refused from the project due to the lack of guarantees from the part of foreign companies to conduct research works.

According to the AzeriFugro spokesman, drilling of wells from where the rocks were extracted was performed from the specialized vessel Markub. В"We scheduled to finish the work by November”, AzeriFugro said.

It should be noted, JV hopes also to carry out geotechnical researches on the promising structure “Yalama”, in case of successful accomplishment of drilling of the second exploration well by Russian LUKOIL and discovering attractive deposits of hydrocarbons.
