In May the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) ship 60,000 tons of Urals oil via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline, the SOCAR told Trend.

The oil batch will be shipped from 7-8 piers on the Novorossiysk port. Soon it is planned to announce a tender on acquisition of this tanker.

In the second quarter the volumes of oil pumping by SOCAR will depend on the level of use of the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline by the AIOC, which is involved in the development of the ACG fields. If the AIOC uses the pipeline for delivery of crude in the in the previous volumes (400,000-410,000 tons of the oil) a month, the SOCAR will be able to deliver maximum 80,000 tons of oil. If AIOC stops using the pipeline in the second of 2006, the SOCAR intends to transport 250,000-260,000 tons of oil a month.
