Head of Azerigaz CJSC: Azerbaijan's Technical Capacities Allow Receiving 2bln Cubic Meters of Gas Annually

Our technical capacities allow us to receive about 2 bln cubic meters of gas per year, Alikhan Malikov, Chairman of Azerigaz CJSC has told journalists during the today's press-conference, Trend reports.

Mr. Malikov told that at present, the Azerbaijani party is negotiating on buying gas from Iran and Russia, and the volume is expected to be at 2 bln cubic meters of gas.

Mr. Malikov also touched an issue on supplying the regions with gas. In accordance with an order issued by the Head of the Azerbaijani State on development of the regions of the country, corresponding commissions were given to Azerigaz. Feasibility studies for each district of Azerbaijan have been prepared separately, and this work is going on, as a program. Last year, we began supplying Imishli District with gas, this year we have already supplied Lerik and Yardimli with this fuel. In addition, after 14-year break, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan has been supplied with the blue fuel. This work is being carried out in the other regions of the country. As a result of all these works the number of gas consumers supplied with gas is set to increase day by day, said Mr. Malikov.

Mr. Malikov also pointed out that Azerigaz is working out different programs aimed at providing the population of the country with gas to develop the economical situation in the country.
