The Azerbaijani Ministry of Industry and Energy informed Trend that next year Azerbaijan is probable to cut energy import by 35%-40% at the expense of increase of own production capacity. Presently the construction of module electricity stations is complete in the southern and western part of the country, while the construction work is continuing in Nakhchivan, Baku and Khachmaz.
Earlier the representatives of AzerEnerji joint stock company said that Russia notified Azerbaijan on possible cut or interruption in energy supply in winter period of 2006-2007 due to energy insufficiency.
Azerbaijan has its own independent energy system, which could ensure energy supply in the country. Azerbaijan is carrying out relevant preparations.
