Iran’s CBI shares data on loans issued for housing, construction sector

Banks in Iran issued loans worth 907 trillion rials (about $21.6 billion) in the housing and construction sector in Iran, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through November 21, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to statistics, about 205 trillion rials (about $4.88 billion) worth of loans were issued for construction work in the housing and construction sector within 8 months.

In addition, Iranian banks issued loans worth 303 trillion rials (about $7.21 billion) as working capital in this sector.

Over the reporting period, 159 trillion rials (about $3.79 billion) worth of loans were issued for repair work and 57.2 trillion rials (about $1.36 billion) for development work in the housing and construction sector.

Furthermore, Iranian banks issued loans worth 113 billion rials (about $2.69 million) for the purchase of personal assets in the housing and construction sector, 169 trillion rials (about $4.03 billion) for the purchase of housing, and 12.2 trillion rials (about $291 million) for other purposes.

The Iranian banks issued loans worth about 17.3 quadrillion rials (about $410 billion) in various economic sectors in the first eight months of the current Iranian year. The figure stood at 6.43 quadrillion rials (about $149 billion) in the same period last Iranian year.
