BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 17. Azerbaijan's transactions with foreign countries on reinvested (secondary) income reached $2.1 billion in the first half of 2022, Trend reports via the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the CBA, the revenues totaled $1.7 billion, while disbursements – $400 million.
Some 96.7 percent of the secondary income fell on money transfers from abroad, 2.1 percent – on imported humanitarian goods prices, and 1.2 percent – on other revenues.
From January through June 2022, total amount of remittances to Azerbaijan equaled $1.6 billion, up by 3.3 times compared to the same period of 2021. Meanwhile, money transfers from Azerbaijan abroad totaled $300 million, increasing by 17.4 percent.
Thus, the overall balance of transactions on secondary income grew by 5.9 times and amounted to $1.3 billion, remaining positive.
