Iran’s services sector leads way in receiving loans from local banks

BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 17. Iranian banks granted loans totaling 13 quadrillion rials (about $310 billion) in the services sector of the country in the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2023), Trend reports.

Data from Iran's Central Bank shows that the following loans were allocated in the services sector:

- Working capital: 9.79 quadrillion rials (about $233 billion);

- Establishment of enterprises and facilities: about 2.34 quadrillion rials (about $55.7 billion);

- Development work: around 617 trillion rials (about $14.8 billion);

- Self-employment: approximately 156 trillion rials (about $3.7 billion);

- Purchase of personal assets: 62 trillion rials (about $1.47 billion);

- Purchase of housing: 27.5 trillion rials (about $656 million);

- Repair work: 10.8 trillion rials (about $258 million).

In total, the Iranian banks issued loans worth about 31.7 quadrillion rials (about $754 billion) in various economic sectors within the first 9 months of the current Iranian year.
