Azerbaijan ranks 94th in the world for speed of incoming Internet traffic

Azerbaijan ranks 94th for the speed of incoming Internet traffic in Ookla's Net Index rating, which is created using a Speedtest service.

Results were received based on experimental researches conducted on Jan. 1-30. Some 85,344 unique IP addresses were selected for testing.

According to the net index rating, the average speed of incoming Internet traffic in Azerbaijan is 2.88 megabytes per second (Mbps). The rating reflects the results of the statistical indicators of Azerbaijan's two initial providers - Delta Telecom and Baktelekom, in whose networks the speed of incoming traffic hit, respectively, 3.38 and 1.97 Mbps during the research period.
According to ratings on incoming traffic, Azerbaijan leaves behind: Uzbekistan (120th) - 1.96 Mbps, Armenia (125th) - 1.86 Mbps, Tajikistan (132nd) - 1.64 Mbps, and Iran (164th) - 0.62 megabits per second (Mbit/s) and other countries. The top three include South Korea (36.89 Mbit/s), Lithuania (30.12 Mbps) and Latvia (26.29 Mbps).

According to the rating on outgoing traffic Azerbaijan ranks 76th, where users go online at a speed of 1 Mbps.
On this indicator Azerbaijan leaves behind: Australia (82nd) - 0.97 Mbps, Italy (95th) - 0.82 Mbps, Israel (96th) - 0.80 Mbps, Mexico (104th) - 0.69 Mbps, Uzbekistan (110th) - 0.67 Mbps, Armenia (112th) - 0.63 Mbps, Greece (113th) 0.63, Saudi Arabia (114th) 0.63 Mbps, Iran (161st) - 0.20 Mbit/s, Tajikistan (164th) - 0.16 Mb/s and other countries.

On the statistics on outgoing traffic in the networks of Delta Telecom and Baktelekom, speed was 1.42 Mbps and 0.63 Mbps, respectively.
