Azerbaijan's postal operator sees increase in number of POS-terminals

The number of POS-terminals of Azerbaijan postal operator Azerpoct OJSC has increased more than four times since the beginning of the year and reached 690 units, a source in the country's postal market told Trend.

Over 500 POS-terminals were put into operation at the beginning of the year, according to the source.

POS-terminals of Azerpoct are installed mainly in the postal network and in some Aztelekom telecommunication nodes.

Since the beginning of this year, the postal operator has put into operation 30 ATMs, the total number of which has reached 60. For comparison, only at the end of 2017, the postal operator installed 13 ATMs.

Azerpoct OJSC has an extensive postal network, which includes more than 1,500 offices across the country. In addition to traditional postal services, the company also provides financial services to the population.

The postal operator started providing financial services in 2012 in accordance with the license of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan. Today, more than 1,200 post offices of the OJSC have the opportunity to provide all types of banking services (except for loans and deposits) on the basis of the license of the Central Bank.
