Baku, Azerbaijan, Nov. 28

By Huseyn Valiyev – Trend:

The bill "On electronic signature" is being coordinated by the Azerbaijani state organizations, a source in the country's IT market told Trend on Nov. 28.

The norms of the EU regulation eIDAS, envisaging the regulatory sphere for safe and uninterrupted interaction among state organizations, enterprises and citizens, are taken into account in the bill.

The new legislation will allow Azerbaijan to mutually recognize e-signature certificates with European countries.

The EU, as previously reported, supports Azerbaijan in this issue through the TAIEX program.

European experts assessed the current situation in Azerbaijan and voiced their recommendations in this sphere.

TAIEX is one of the instruments for rendering targeted political and legal consultations to coordinate the laws of the partner countries with the provisions of the "acquis communautaire" (community acquis).

This is usually achieved by dispatching an expert from an EU member-state to a ministry or government of a partner country to render assistance while solving a specific task.
