BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 14. As many as 84,400 foreigners visited Azerbaijan in April 2022, up by 99 percent compared to the same month of 2021, Trend reports citing the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
From January through April 2022, 330,679 tourists visited Azerbaijan, which was 103 percent more than in the same period of 2021 (162,991).
Most of foreigners who visited Azerbaijan in April 2022 were the citizens of Turkey (27,100 people), Russia (19,100 people), Iran (13,300 people), Georgia (5,800 people) and Ukraine (2,000 people). This indicator is followed by Kazakhstan (1,800 people), Pakistan (1,400 people), Israel (1,300 people), the UK (1,200 people) and Germany (1,000 people).
According to the agency, the number of visitors to Azerbaijan from Germany in the reporting month increased by 3.4 times, while from the UK – by 2.45 times against the same month in 2021.
