Kazakhstan's QAZAQ AIR expanding regional flights operations

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jun. 26

By Nargiz Sadikhova - Trend:

Kazakhstan’s QAZAQ AIR company is launching flights between Kazakhstan’s Almaty and Taraz cities, Trend reports with reference to the company.

The flights will be operated starting Jul. 1, 2020 and implemented four times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays). The tickets are already up for purchase.

The flights will be operated on the Almaty – Taraz and Taraz – Almaty routes, as well as on the Nur-Sultan – Almaty – Taraz route for transit passengers.

In March 2020, in order to prevent coronavirus spread in Kazakhstan, the number of flights was reduced by 438 flights per week on international destinations on 97 routes, which makes up 99 percent of all international flights implemented.

Additionally, all domestic flights have been canceled and no regular air services operated in the country over April 2020.

Earlier this month, Kazakhstan announced a decision to resume international flights to a number of countries. The flights are being gradually resumed to Turkey, China, South Korea, Thailand and Japan as of Jun. 20, 2020.
