Kazakhstan reports drastic increase in road cargo transportation

Kazakhstan’s revenues from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via road transport amounted to 171.4 billion tenge ($396.8 million) from January through October 2021, which is 18.8 percent more than during the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via road transport in October 2021 amounted to 20.08 billion tenge ($46.4 million), which is 15.2 percent more than during the same period of 2020.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via road transport during the reporting period amounted to 2.5 billion tons, which is 2.4 percent less compared to the same period of last year (322.02 million tons in October 2021, up by 2.9 percent year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 124.8 billion ton-kilometers which is 3.3 percent less than during the same period of last year (15.5 billion in October 2021, an increase of 1.2 percent).

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 75.5 billion tenge ($174.9 million) over the reporting period of 2021, which is 37 percent more than during the same period of last year. October revenue from passenger transportation was 8.6 billion tenge ($19.9 million), which is 35.4 percent more compared to October 2020.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 5.7 billion people, which is 24.9 percent less than during the same period of last year (835.8 million passengers in October 2021, up by 2.3 times).

The passenger turnover amounted to 61.02 billion passenger kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is a decrease of 26.4 percent.

The passenger turnover in October was 8.6 billion (2.06 times more year-on-year).
