Volume of loaded/unloaded cargo at Iran's Shahid Bahonar port decreases

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 16. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Shahid Bahonar port in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), decreased by 7.7 percent, in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2023), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

Approximately 149,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at this port in the 1st month. Of this, 134,000 tons were loaded and 14,500 tons were unloaded.

Within the 1st month, 98,100 tons of cargo were exported and 5,620 tons were imported through the Shahid Bahonar port.

Also, 1,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 5,570 tons were unloaded at the port for transit over the reporting month.

At the same time, 35,000 tons of cargo were loaded at the port for cabotage. Also, 34 tons of cargo were loaded and 3,260 tons were unloaded for other purposes during the 1st month.

Some 52,200 tons of essential products, 106 tons of metal products, about 17,800 tons of construction and mining materials, and 3,030 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded at the Shahid Bahonar port in the 1st month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 25,000 tons of chemicals, 146 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 3,370 tons of container products, and 46,900 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned period.

In total, 11.9 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 1st month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.22 million tons were loaded and 6.68 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 0.7 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
