BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 29. The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Central Asia (CILT Central Asia) provides consultations in the field of transport to enterprises in Turkmenistan, a source in the CILT Central Asia told Trend.
It was noted that since the beginning of USAID's Trade Central Asia activity (TCA), CILT Central Asia has provided tailored consultations to 12 of Turkmenistan’s small and medium enterprises in the logistics and transport sectors through the implementation of the Business Support Program.
"The Business Support Program program provides professional consultancy services after auditing companies and identifying the weak points and areas where consultancy and capacity building are necessary," said the source.
Regarding the question of which type of transport is involved in the Business Support Program, CILT Central Asia noted that since the project is aimed more at capacity building, there will be no actual transportation involved; however, the pool of institute experts who provide consultation and conduct training are practitioners from all areas of logistics and transport.
Meanwhile, the Turkmen Logistics Association and CILT Central Asia, with the support of USAID's Trade Central Asia activity, organized a round table earlier this year to discuss the role of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport as a transit hub for Central Asian exports.
During the meeting, representatives of Turkmenistan discussed with regional partners practical issues of cargo transportation, including transportation through the Turkmenbashi International Seaport, schedule and tariffs of transportation, freight forwarding services, logistics services, paperwork, and transit procedures.
