The association "Trans-Caspian International Transport Route" (TITR, or Middle Corridor) reported the successful operation of feeder service Poti / Batumi port - Samsun port - Karasu port to provide container transportation services to and from Türkiye through TITR, Trend reports.

"This feeder line, "Poti / Batumi port - Samsun port - Karasu port" on the Black Sea, was put into operation in the second half of 2023 due to the temporary closure of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTC) railway line to modernize the BTC and increase the volume of cargo transportation up to 5 million tons per year. We would like to note that this feeder line has successfully coped with its task," the association TITR notes.

Meanwhile, the authorized operator of this feeder service is Pacifica Eurasia, which is also an authorized operator of Turkish Railway container transportation.

The modernized BTC may be put into operation at the end of April 2024, which will more than triple the transportation of cargo along this route, which interacts with TITR.

To note, the TITR celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2024. A total of 2.76 million tons of cargo passed through it in 2023.
