Important motorways in the Akmola and Karaganda regions of Kazakhstan have been closed due to heavy snowfalls on Thursday, the press service of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan.
The following roads are now closed: Part of the Derzhavinsk - Arkalyk road Zhezkazgan - Petropavlovsk (440-377 km) section of Astana - Schuchinsk highway Astana - Petropavlovsk (18-241 km) section of Astana - Atbasar highway Moscow - Almaty (1237-995 km ) plot Zhaksy - Yesil road Zhaksy - Yesil - Buzluk (0-64 km) are closed in Akmola.
"Exits from the city of Astana in all directions are also closed" the Kazakhstan Ministry of Transport press office advised.
A section of the Zhezkazgan-Atasu Kyzylorda - Pavlodar (137-252 km) road in the Karaganda region is also closed.
