Applications submitted to the CEC on violations of election law have been quickly checked, the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan reported with reference to the Commision Deputy Chairman B. Meldeshev.
"The CEC received some applications on violations of election law, in particular, from the Nationwide Social Democratic Party (NSDP) of Kazakhstan which says that in some regions representatives of the party with consultative voice were not allowed to the district election commissions.
These facts in the cities of Almaty, Karaganda, Atyrau and Aktobe region were quickly checked. The checks revealed that in the Atyrau region 7 representatives of NSDP came to polling stations without identity cards left by them at home and after presenting their identity cards they were provided with the opportunity to work in district election commission, that is, their rights were fully restored. A similar situation was also observed in the Karaganda region.
With regard to the Almaty and Aktobe region, the situation was different. Since the assignment of district election commission member's rights with the right of consultative vote to the NSDP representatives they did not participate in its activity, although before the voting day, they had to work together with other members of the Election Commission to clarify the voters' lists.
Just on Election Day, the NSDP representatives expressed willingness to work in district election commission. Naturally, the Commission expressed its complaint, because they practically did not fulfill their obligations as members of the commission with consultative vote. But even in this case, the Election Commission made a step forward, they have provided with the right to participate - as observers at the polling station, " the report says.
The elections to Majilis and maslikhats were held yesterday in Kazakhstan.
The Nur Otan national-democratic party, Adilet, Kazakhstan Patriots' Party, Nationwide social-democratic party, Ak Zhol, Communist People's Party of Kazakhstan and the Kazakh Social Democratic Party Auyl took part in the elections.
