Head of National Defense Enterprise Kazakhstan Engineering Bolat Smagulov and Ukrainian delegation headed by chief of Armed Forces Lieutenant-General, Vladimir Zaman discussed cooperation between defense enterprises of the two countries and priority joint projects, the Kazakh company reported.
"Repair and modernization of aircraft and armored vehicles, ship building, development and manufacture of anti-aircraft defense systems are promising areas for bilateral cooperation," Kazakhstan Engineering quoted Bolat Smagulov as saying at the meeting.
Moreover, according to Smagulov, Kazakhstan is interested in exporting electronic devices and communications equipment to Ukrainian market.
In particular, the parties discussed implementation of the joint project on armored vehicles production in Kazakhstan. The agreement on this project was signed by Kazakhstan Engineering and Ukrainian State Concern Ukroboronprom at the second international exhibition of arms and military equipment KADEX-2012 in May.
Representatives of the Ukrainian delegation expressed their willingness to continue the efficient cooperation with Kazakhstan Engineering in the existing projects and to develop partnership in research and development work in the defense sphere.
