China's new leaders will continue pursuing the policies aimed at strengthening the relations with Kazakhstan, Premier of the Chinese State Council Wen Jiabao said at the meeting with Kazakh Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov on Wednesday, Kazakh Prime-Minister's press-service reported.

Kazakh and Chinese Prime Ministers hold a meeting on the sidelines of the session of the Prime Ministers' Council of Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Bishkek.

"Within the meeting Akhmetov and Jiabao have discussed the issues regarding the development of the Kazakh-Chinese cooperation within the SCO," the press-service said.
The parties have also exchanged the views on the urgent issues of bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

In particular the issues of interaction in the sphere of transport, energy sector and oil and gas sector were discussed.

"Kazakh Prime Minister emphasized the necessity to maintain positive trends in the trade turnover ensuring its growth to $40 billion by 2015," the press-service said.
