Kazakhstan, Astana, May 3 / Trend, D. Mukhtarov /
Dutch teachers will teach young people in Kazakhstan the tricks of the trade of maritime affairs, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Astana Peyter van Leeuwen told Trend on Friday.
"Most recently, the Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU) opened a course in Almaty for marine engineers, who can get education with the help of experienced teachers of one of the oldest and most famous Dutch schools of maritime affairs, Rotterdam Marine Institute," van Leeuwen said.
According to him, Rotterdam Marine Institute won the tender announced by one of the oil and gas companies of Kazakhstan along with KBTU.
"The aforementioned Dutch school has a long history of maritime affairs. The entire course was developed by its experts. Teachers from Holland live in Almaty. This is a great opportunity for young Kazakhs to get an education in their own country without having to travel far from home," the diplomat said.
According to Van Leeuwen, the course is designed not only for the development of the Kashagan field, but also for the implementation of maritime transit.
"This course prepares specialists in different fields, from captains to seamen, who will be able to work not only on the Caspian Sea, but also around the world," he said.
