Kazakhstan and St. Kitts and Nevis have established diplomatic relations, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said.

A joint communique was signed in New York.

"The document was signed by Kazakh permanent representative to the UN Birganym Aitimova and Saint Kitts and Nevis's Permanent Representative to the UN Delano Frank Bart," the ministry said.

During the meeting, Ambassador Delano Frank Bart voiced his country's interest in establishing bilateral cooperation with Kazakhstan, in particular in the field of energy, economy, trade and tourism.

St. Kitts and Nevis is a member state of the Organization of American States (OAS), the trade and economic union of South American countries - The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).
